LETs Talk is a project started by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka in 2017 with the goal of enhancing the knowledge of young professionals by giving talks in collaboration with prominent members of the society on timely key subjects and other skills that are required in shaping up their careers.

LETs Talk project mainly emphasizes the evolving the soft skills of tech enthusiasts and educating students, professionals, and anybody with a desire to achieve greater heights, as denoted. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from eminent professionals who will offer their expert expertise in a variety of sectors.

The presenters highlight opportunities, hurdles, disappointments, and success stories, as well as illustrating words and jargon and offering advice on common rookie mistakes made by young professionals. The flow is set up in such a way that participants can have a post-speech conversation with the speaker to get their questions answered. Considering IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization, it clearly has the potential to provide opportunities for a significant number of young people. This program is open not only to IEEE Young Professionals, It will be the great opportunity to anybody who is enthusiastic and excited about engineering.


IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka was founded in 2011 as part of the IEEE Young Professionals global network. Young professionals working in the field of technology, including junior academic staff at universities and postgraduate students, make up the membership. IEEE YP SL is regularly monitored by IEEE Headquarters and the IEEE Asia Pacific Region, and it makes every effort to assure the finest experience in every activity it organizes, while also offering benefits to the local membership.


The IEEE Sri Lanka Section was endorsed on 14th November 2003 under the IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) to foster technological innovations and excellence for the benefit of humanity and for the advancement of technical professionalism in Sri Lanka.

Expanding membership ever since the Section has now grown the number of members to over 2500.
